I am thrilled to be reading the part of Annabella de Leon, a Guatamalan member of parliament. Annabella raised herself and her family out poverty by getting an education and becoming a lawyer. She has been a congresswoman since 1995 has received death threats because of her fight against corruption and for the rights of the poor, particularly women and indigenous peoples.

Others joining in the reading are four Dutch national politicians: Mirjam Sterk (Christian-Democrat), Nehabat Albayrak (Labour), Pia Dijkstra (D66) and Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert (VVD). The other roles are played by Farah Karimi, Director of Oxfam Novib and Birgitta Ohlsson, the Minister for EU-affairs of Sweden. You are welcome to join us for an evening of inspiration.

"The play powerfully portrays the transformative way that seven courageous women have changed their societies for the better," says US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton
